This workshop, in conjunction with the Oral History Association of Australia, introduces participants to the practice and methods of oral history and provides equipment training on the Fostex digital recorders.

Date: 17 June 2009

Time: 10am - 3.30pm

Venue: State Library of SA, North Tce., Adelaide.
Meet at the Security/Cloak Room on Level 1, Spence building.

Cost: $50 per person per day or $25 for concession/pension card holders.

Equipment Hire

The SA Branch has available for hire:

1 Fostex digital recorder:
plus two external microphones, and flashcards
Members:
cost: $20 per week or $5 per day
Non-Members:
cost: $25 per week or $10 per day

 

Projects

As a member of the Association, you have the opportunity to become involved in projects undertaken by the SA branch, usually in conjunction with other organizations/institutions. The SA Home Builders’ Club project, in conjunction with the University of South Australia, a successful ongoing project which began in 2002 is currently entering its second phase.

Annual General Meeting

This annual meeting provides an opportunity to meet and socialise with other members of the Association. An entertaining talk on a subject related to oral history is presented by an invited speaker and refreshments are provided free of charge.

 

Seminars

In the past the SA branch has held a number of very successful and well-attended seminars on a wide range of subjects, including new technologies, sensitivity in interviewing, memory and history and the experiences of interviewees. Check Word of Mouth or contact the Association for information about upcoming events.

Suggestions for seminars are always welcome.
